Kericho Teachers’ Training College currently is offering Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (DPTE, Diploma in Early Childhood Development (DECTE) and Upgrade in Diploma in Primary Teacher Education.
The Dean of Curriculum’s office is charged with the task of overseeing implementation of core – curriculum activities at the college. The core-curriculum is organized as follows.
Trainees are selected from all over Kenya and have to meet the minimum requirements as follows,

DPTE: Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (DPTE) shall be C Plain Mean Grade in the Kenya National Examination Council (KCSE) or its equivalent (as equated by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC).

The Special Needs Candidate (SNE) could be admitted with C minus Grade in KCSE or equivalent for the respective Diplomas.
Duration for Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (DPTE) shall be three years and trainees shall take all courses specified in the DPTE curriculum which includes Professional Courses and Learning areas in Primary School Curriculum which includes:

ECTE: Diploma Early Childhood in Teacher Education (DECTE) shall be C Plain Mean Grade in the Kenya Certificate of  Secondary Education (KCSE) or its equivalent (as equated by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC).The Special Needs Candidate (SNE) could be admitted with C minus Grade in KCSE or equivalent for the respective Diplomas.

Duration for Diploma in Early Childhood Teacher Education (DECTE) shall be three years and trainees shall take all courses specified in the DECTE curriculum which includes Professional Courses and Learning areas in Pri-primary School Curriculum which takes 414 hours for Professional Courses and 1176 hours for content and pedagogical approaches and techniques used to delivery of CBC for Pri-primary.

Kericho Teachers’ Training College is known for producing some of the well trained teachers who are currently teaching in the wider East frican Community. Most of our teachers are pursuing further studies in either Special Needs Education or Degree courses.
Teachers who will teach learners to think critically and inspire them to have a desire of acquiring more knowledge. In addition, teachers who will endeavor to awaken the expectations and dreams of their learners and at all times be good role models to the learners.
